ARTIST STATEMENT
"My photographs emerge from a mind engulfed in the world
of western entertainment: its culture, products, and mystique. The photographs, often inspired by the imagery of contemporary
fashion magazines, take from my own memories and experiences of growing up in a time and culture where 'image is everything'
and thus is the primary factor by which people are judged. The scenes presented in my photographs are manifestations of a
melange of remembered stills from movies, memories of television shows, of magazine ads and layouts, of theatre, of the multitude
of sources that have saturated my mind since childhood. I use this image 'saturation' to frame my work, exploring identity
and image construction within contemporary western society."
